About Dr. Sherman Lai Dr. Sherman Lai is a TCM physician who has developed himself for the last 25 years as a clinician and researcher in Canada. Dr. Lai has successfully integrated cutting edge Chinese medicine with Western medical sciences, function food medicine and psychotherapy to form a discipline known as Advance Integrative Chinese Medicine (AICM). This discipline forms the backbone of his efforts to reform Chinese Medicine for the 21st century and adopt it for North American culture, both through education of healthcare professionals as well as through utilizing biotechnology to produce the highest levels of safety and efficacy for Chinese herbal medicine. Dr. Lai's primary areas of research have been immune system disorders, cancer, women’s medicine, infertility and emotional disorders. He has published numerous research papers in the fields of cancer treatment, arthritis treatment and women’s medicine. He has used this discipline to serve more than 18,000 patients from all over the world with very satisfactory results. He is often invited to lecture to physicians who are interested in integrating TCM into their practices. Dr. Lai provides consultation for numerous doctors around the world for cases involving cancer and fertility. Dr. Lai sat on the advisory committee of the Ministry of Health of Ontario for the regulation of Chinese medicine from 2003-2004 and is a strong advocate for the regulation of TCM.
